BBC Children’s and Education has commissioned a new pre-school show set in a fantastical tower block called Playtime Towers.

Currently filming in Glasgow and made by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions, the magazine show is “brimming with larger-than-life characters, inspiring young children to fuel their own imaginative playtimes. Lively activities are hidden on every floor and the only way to uncover them is to ride the lift with Bella the Elevator Fun Maker!”

In each visit Bella, played by newcomer Rose-Marie Christian and her mechanical friend, ‘LIFT’, take children on a journey to three surprise floors, each one revealing creative play ideas, such as arts and crafts, dancing and stories all connected by a simple theme woven throughout each episode.

Kate Morton, Senior Head of Commissioning for CBeebies says: “Little ones and their grown-ups will love this new take on the classic children’s TV format. The magazine show has been much-loved for generations since Playschool and family favourites like Show Me, Show Me and now Playtime Towers, with all the fun across each floor creating magical moments for today’s children.”

Playtime Towers is made by BBC Studios Kids and Family Productions for CBeebies with Anna Perowne as Executive Producer. Commissioning Executives for the BBC are Julia Bond and Dan Flint.
