Brown Bob, the indie founded by Jacqueline Hewer and Nicki Gottlieb, has confirmed Samantha Rosie as Creative Director, to head up its Cardiff base, Brown Bob Cymru.
Rosie forged her career at the BBC in Wales, before becoming the Wales Executive Producer for BBC Studios, and was part of the team that created a new Factual Entertainment department. More recently she’s worked with a number of Welsh indies in senior freelance roles.
Her Executive Producer credits include: Our Lives (BBC One), The One Show (BBC One) and the Weatherman Walking and X Ray consumer series (BBC Wales). Other production credits include The Wanted (BBC One Daytime), The Curious House Guest (BBC 2), the BAFTA Cymru award-winning The Greatest Gift (BBC One Wales), and 13 seasons of the ‘24/7’ strand (Hospital, Police, Vets, Hotel).
Hewer and Gottlieb used specialist search agency, Talented People, to find the candidate who matched their criteria. Rosie will take up the editorial lead at their newly-opened Cardiff base, Brown Bob Cymru.
Sam Rosie said: “Brown Bob have a terrific track record of delivering high quality programmes and there is huge potential here in Wales to grow even further, with the great creative production talent that we have in the country. I am excited to be joining the team at Brown Bob Cymru to build on their existing success with new, exciting content.”
Hewer and Gottlieb said: “We are very excited to find someone of Sam’s calibre and commitment to the Welsh broadcasting industry to join our team. We are looking forward to making our mark with Brown Bob Cymru, and establishing our company in the Welsh media landscape.”
