Electric Theatre Collective has now opened its US studio in New York.
Located at 166 Crosby Street, the New York offering will mirror Electric’s London studio, crafting VFX, colour and design. The launch is spearheaded by Antonia Vlasto, who steps into the role of Managing Director: New York, following a seven year stint at Electric London as EP.
Vlasto is joined by producers and creatives including EPs Polly Durrance, who moves from London and New York-based Chris Connolly. Arriving from The Mill NY are Katherine Miccio and Dara O Cairbre (Senior producers) as well as Jaymin Han (Compositor) and two 2D VFX Supervisors, soon to be named.
Joining from Harbor, Creative Director Kyle Cody brings a wealth of expertise gained across VFX projects and Super Bowl commercials for the likes of Oreo and Ritz. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining the incredibly talented team at Electric Theatre Collective”, he said. “The London studio has set the standard for visual excellence, consistently producing some of the most striking and imaginative VFX work in the world. It’s an honour to help carry that legacy forward as we expand into the US. We’re not just showing up, we’re raising the bar.”
Antonia Vlasto said: “The launch of Electric in New York is a very special one for us. Not only does it mark a pivotal moment for the Collective, but we’re doing it with some of the best in the industry. We’re sticking to our DNA and focusing on creativity and culture, with a commitment to making our East Coast hub distinctly Electric.
“We’ve been honing our craft and cultivating our culture in London for nearly fourteen years now, and there are so many elements we’re carrying across and imprinting on Electric NY. Our new space holds people, creative ambition and our renowned sense of spirit at its heart, and I am incredibly honoured to welcome old clients and new to our Crosby Street home.”
Electric New York is now open for business, offering access locally and worldwide to their roster of artists across colour grading, VFX, finishing, design and animation.
East Coast representation is being handled by New York based talent management company, Miss Smith Inc.
