At Home with the Furys indie Optomen, has appointed former Channel 4 and Lime Pictures executive Becky Cadman to the newly-created role of Head of Talent-led Programming.
Reporting to joint CEOs Tina Flintoff and Nick Hornby, Cadman will focus on creating new, premium, talent-driven documentaries and reality shows for the UK and US.
The All3Media indie has recently picked up new and returning commissions including Stacey and Joe for BBC One and Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends for ITVX.
As Creative Director: Formats and Talent at Lime, Cadman was instrumental in the creation, direction and commission of programming including Vinnie Jones in the Country for Discovery + and Drama Queens for ITVBe.
Prior to Lime, Cadman spent five years at Channel 4 as a commissioning editor for Factual Entertainment, ordering programmes including the multi-BAFTA award-winning The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan and the critically-acclaimed Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death, one of the broadcaster’s highest rating documentaries.
Other high performing commissions included Inside Poundland: Secrets From the Shop Floor, Bill Turnbull: Staying Alive, the six-part Chatsworth House series and Big Brother: Best Shows Ever – partnering Rylan Clark and Davina McCall for the first time.
Previous to Channel 4, Cadman led the format development for a number of broadcasters on shows including Love Island, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Got to Dance.
Tina Flintoff and Nick Hornby said: “Talent-led programming has become increasingly important to our business so we are thrilled Becky has agreed to join us to focus on the opportunities in this space. She has a fantastic eye for talent, and a real flair for creating entertaining and original formats.”
Becky Cadman said: “Optomen is a creative powerhouse with a stellar line up of programmes. They excel in creating brilliant and engaging formats and attract the most incredible talent. I am really looking forward to accelerating Optomen’s talent ambitions and helping them to realise even more great entertainment and documentary programming.”
Optomen’s recent shows include its first commission for Sky – Becoming Madonna, reality show, Meet The Rees-Moggs for Discovery+, At Home with the Furys for Netflix and the multi award-winning Sort Your Life Out with Stacey Solomon for the BBC, which has been recommissioned for series five.
