ScreenSkills is to run a new training programme for unscripted TV data wrangling delivered by The Kit Room.
Starting with the fundamentals of data management and workflow, the course will teach trainees how to manage all media, how to support multi camera crews whilst providing clear and transparent reports to the post production facility and will also give trainees the technical knowhow to foresee and overcome technical issues.
Taught by experienced DITS, the training will include a full weekend of in-person training and practical exercises, followed by online sessions covering kit awareness and maintenance, and an understanding of the postproduction workflow and responsibilities of the crucial role.
This training programme is funded by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund.
60 delegates are being sought and the programme is aimed at editorial and production staff in unscripted TV with at least 2-3 years industry experience. The focus is on early career stage individuals in roles such as researcher, AP, or production coordinator, who are looking to bolster their skillset, widen their work opportunities, and improve their value to a production.
This training programme will run across several regional cohorts in London, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester or Leeds (TBC), Bristol or Cardiff (TBC).
